Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, username, profile information, portfolio images, and payment details. We also collect usage data automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and device information. When you upload images, our content moderation system may analyze them for policy compliance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the Platform; (b) process transactions and send related notifications; (c) send you technical notices, updates, and support messages; (d) respond to your comments and questions; (e) monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities; (f) detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse; (g) personalize and improve your experience, including recommendations.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with: (a) service providers who assist in operating our Platform (Stripe for payments, Supabase for data storage, Sight Engine for content moderation); (b) law enforcement when required by law or to protect our rights; (c) other users as part of your public profile (name, username, portfolio, reviews). Private information like email and payment details are never shared with other users.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase (hosted on AWS) for database storage and Stripe for payment processing. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

5. Content Moderation & Image Analysis

When you upload images (profile pictures, portfolio items), they may be analyzed by our automated content moderation system to detect inappropriate content. This analysis is performed by Sight Engine, a third-party service. The analysis results (categories detected, not the images themselves) are stored to maintain platform safety. Images flagged as containing mature artistic content are labeled accordingly.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use localStorage to store your theme preference (light/dark mode) and authentication session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide opt-out mechanisms.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) delete your account and associated data; (d) export your data; (e) opt out of marketing communications; (f) withdraw consent for data processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@artare.com or use the account settings page.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance). Uploaded content is deleted from our storage when you remove it or close your account.

9. Children's Privacy

Artare is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us at privacy@artare.com.

10. International Users

Artare operates globally. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for EU users and CCPA for California residents.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
